The sacred Ibis is one of Kenya's common Ibises.   Normally the feed on wetlands but often scavenge for food around human habitation. Quite distinct from Kenya's other Ibises and easily recognized in flight by the white wings with a black fringe all the way around. In  ancient  Egypt,  it was venerated and often mummified as a symbol of the god Thoth, thus the name 'sacred'.
