This group of local dancers is called 'Tierra Fertile' or Fertile Earth. They are from the village of Pilas, which is located on the Nicoya Peninsula, in the north-pacific province of Guanacaste in Costa Rica. Members of the community wanted to teach the local kids about their roots, their values and traditions. As a result, they started this group to encourage the kids to learn more about their culture through dance. The songs, costume and dance is typical and traditional in the province of Guanacaste. They perform at Punta Islita Hotel and Resort for select groups.
