The Queen Elizabeth is being christened by a tugboat as she departs the dockyard on her maiden voyage. The 294 metre long ocean liner, produced by Fincantieri for Cunard Line, left the Monfalcone dockyards in the Bay of Trieste, Italy on its maiden voyage on the 30th of September 2010. It has 1,046 cabins which can accommodate 2.500 guests and is supported by 1,097 members of staff. Tickets for the inaugural cruise to the Canary Islands were sold out in 29 minutes.
