The ruins at Wiñay Wuayna (Huinay Huayna) are surrounded by lush forest and built into a steep hillside just below the Inca Trail leading to Machu Picchu.  It comprises a small, but beautiful complex of buildings overlooking the Urubamba River. The site consists of upper and lower house complexes connected by a staircase and fountain structures. The scenic walk from Wiñay Huayna to Machu Picchu is full of bromeliads and orchids.
