Town of Ollantaytambo, in southern Peru, is home to an important Inca archeological site. The town was built on top of original Inca foundations divided into canchas (blocks), each leading into a central courtyard. The town displays how Inca terracing and irrigation took place in the Urubamba Valley. Because of its success, the Inca irrigation system is still used by villagers for cultivation to this day.
